Capsule Arts was appointed as Art Consultants to curate and style the hotel taking inspiration from the rich history of the UAE when pearl trade was a major means of livelihood for several tribes. Pearl divers would equip themselves with their nets, ropes, and nose clips and dive into the oyster beds, often found in shallow waters around the Arabian Gulf. The pearls from this region were greatly prized for their perfection and quality.
Throughout the art and accessories package, we explored the environment of the pearl, from the sandy seabed where it is found, to the vegetation rippling in the water current and the oysters enclosing the pearl. We also delved into the details of the pearl itself such as its iridescence, luminosity, shape, and form.
