Working closely with the interior design firm Drawlink Group, Capsule Arts commissioned bespoke artworks to be displayed throughout the public areas of the hotel.
Highly influenced by the idea of bringing colour and fun into the space, we began developing contemporary concepts that brought intrigue, interaction, and discovery to the guest’s experiences. The result of the project combined a selection of 3D wall-mounted sculptures, alongside artworks on canvas, and a series of textile installations using thread and perspex to create word art inspired by the therapeutic spa experience.
For the main lobby a bespoke, free-standing sculpture was created as the centrepiece, reliant on the bustling to and fro of guests to interact with its changing perspectives. Within the same area, traditional rulers' portraits were given a unique twist with a sequence of hand-painted screws.
Besides working with our own in-house design team Capsule Arts Studio, we also worked with locally based designer Bersun Erturk who designed the lobby sculpture and 3D wall art, Jill Thomas Whatley who designed the thread word art for the spa and Khalid Mezaina who created artwork for the All-Day dining area.
