At Capsule Arts, we were commissioned to bring to life the design and build of the space, as well as provide stunning artwork and accessories that matched the magnificence and grandeur of the hotel. The overall theme was to be centered around the Ottoman influences from architecture through to art and culture.
Following a successful research trip to India to identify potential suppliers and artists, we focused on the use of bespoke marble inlay, marble carving and thikri artworks throughout the space, as well as metal works, decorative ceramics and authentic antiques. Artworks and wooden panels featuring intricate botanical patterns, Ottoman hunting scenes, peacocks perched on branches and mosaic ‘Pietra dura’ were also placed throughout the tea lounge, all-day dining area and washrooms to tie in with the narrative. Large-scale artworks and installations that created a playful reflection of light were also commissioned by artists to work within the interior aesthetics of the space, keeping the overall look elegant, refined and fresh.
