Malibu, Dubai

Malibu is a laid-back American diner that pays homage to the ‘California dreaming’ era of the 1950s.

An inviting space with fun, beach vibes, guests can pull up a stool at the bar and select from a wide array of classics such as handcrafted burgers, stacked pancakes, grilled steaks, lobster rolls, milkshakes, sundaes, soda floats and more.

Playful art installation with bold graphic signage and neon elements, creating a vibrant and immersive coastal-inspired vibe.

At Capsule Arts, our goal was to design a contemporary art package that complemented the West Coast surfing theme and transported guests to the era of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. This was done by following a vibrant, ocean-inspired colour palette of greens, blues, pinks and white. We also mounted vibrant neon light boxes, fun swimming fins, and created a route 66 signage mural on the wall.

Contemporary graffiti artist Gary Yong was also commissioned to create wall artwork that involved hand-painting reclaimed surfboards in fun colours with beach-themed quotes. Weathered wood signage with faux rust was also placed throughout the space to give it a cool, beach vibe.
