At Capsule Arts, our goal was to design a contemporary art package that complemented the sleek, sophisticated interiors, all while working seamlessly with the wooden flooring, ceiling and tables of the indoor and outdoor space.

To achieve this, we commissioned several artists to create installations that referenced the Peruvian coastline. The first was a breathtaking fishing net by Stephanie Neville that was dyed in different hues of blue, pink and purple and hung at different points across the restaurant to create a ‘wave’ effect. Peruvian artist, Cynthia Malamud, handcrafted a large textile artwork woven in rich colours using natural fibres such as rope and wool. This was placed at the front of the restaurant to welcome guests into the space.

On one side of the restaurant, Alessandra Fabre Repetto displayed over 100 circular-shaped, hand-built pods made out of multiple layers of book pages were drilled into the wall. These were burnished, and hand-painted in shades of blues and greens as well as silver-leafed. On the other side of the restaurant, another wall sculpture was created composing of leaf-shaped porcelain pieces and various glazes, as well as a wall of discs made from molten brass and reclaimed Sheesham wood mounted in a grid composition.
