Working closely with the international interior design firm, AvroKO, Capsule Arts was appointed to source accessories and artworks for the restaurant and provide interior styling services.
Our team sourced a wide range of vintage accessories that recall Prohibition-era America, including bootleg-style alcohol bottles, old whisky crates and quirky curiosities such as antique tesla generators. We created the ambience of an old barbershop for the washroom areas with a selection of old shaving accessories and perfume bottles. These were complemented by old advertising prints and photography relating to the period and history of Al Capone. The team also hunted down and framed a series of genuine newspapers from the 1920s that tell the fascinating story of the gangster’s reign.
Capsule Arts Studio also developed a number of bespoke items for the project. For the private dining room, we created a series of secret installations hidden in concealed cupboards, such as a mock bank vault. Upstairs, Lebanese sculptor, Hady Beydoun, was commissioned to recreate a series of historical electrical fuse boxes as a feature piece at the entrance. The team also worked with Dubai-based artist, Stephen Chambers, for a mural based on iconic painted signage in Chicago, featuring an authentic crackled paint effect.
