Women of Impact: Deepa Bhatia

This International Women’s Day, we’re super proud to present our Co-founder and CEO, Deepa Bhatia, as she was featured alongside other brilliant women in Commercial Interior Design ‘Women of Impact’ feature.

For creative powerhouse Deepa Bhatia, her journey into the industry was marked by a bold departure from the traditional career paths often encouraged within South Asian communities. “I’ve always had a passion for the arts. So, when I took the path less taken from the traditional career path in medicine or engineering and instead decided to enter the design industry, it was definitely a big divergence back then,” Bhatia reminisces.

Armed with a diploma in interior design, her career initially focused on residential projects before taking a pivotal turn towards art consultancy, a field that allowed her to marry her love for interior design with her art appreciation. Reflecting on what makes the design industry and the region of Dubai special, Bhatia points out, “It’s a place that uplifts creative ideas,” crediting initiatives like KSA Vision 2030 and UAE Vision 2040 for fostering an environment ripe with innovation and excitement. She finds inspiration in the region’s dynamic atmosphere, where the confluence of diverse cultures and the demand for unique concepts offer endless opportunities for creativity. “Working in this industry isn’t just about designing spaces; it’s about shaping experiences and making connections,” Bhatia notes.

“Over the past five years, witnessing the growth of our portfolio, especially in the ultra-luxury hospitality sector, has been “incredibly rewarding”. “We’ve grown our team threefold and received five awards last year for four of our projects,” she shares on her company’s established leadership in art consultancy. The firm’s standout projects, like Gastronomy at Atlantis The Royal and SO/ Uptown Dubai Hotel, Sol Beach Club in Egypt, and AlUla International Airport in KSA have that have earned industry-wide recognition” - Deepa Bhatia, Co-founder and CEO of Capsule Arts.
