Introducing Darrel Perkins, an accomplished American printmaker, illustrator, and educator who made Dubai his home in 2019. Renowned for his distinctive artistic approach, Perkins intricately crafts flowing patterns through the meticulous process of Linoleum block carving, showcasing bold contrasts within a limited colour palette, typically favouring black and white.

In the realm of printmaking, Perkin masterfully employs diverse techniques with precision. Each print is a testament to his craft, featuring engaging textures and depths. Experimenting innovatively, he pushes traditional boundaries, creating captivating visual experiences. What sets Perkin apart is the thoughtful integration of skills into projects.

His participation in our work for Upside Living involved applying his precision-driven block-print technique to produce a series of detailed and relatable illustrations.  

These designs were transformed into framed prints, strategically placed within various apartment units throughout the building. The result? A touch of sophistication and tranquillity provides residents with an inviting space for relaxation and leisure.
