Any visit to the studio houses within the area named 'Heart of Sharjah' is one of discovery filled with art, conversation, and tea. There's a beautiful atmosphere and an active community of artists working late into the evening. We spent the afternoon with Nasir Nasrallah, Mohammed Al Qassab and Basem Al Sayer. With regular trips to Sharjah there'll be more journal posts to come from this treasure trove of art.
Last week was filled with studio visits of Dubai based artists in preparation for our limited edition print collection, due for release later this year. It's always fascinating to see where an artist works, their tools, daily rituals and inspirations laid out amongst their artworks. Here we feature the studios and artworks of Dubai based artists Lama Khatib Dianel, Kate Toledo, Fathima Mohiuddin and Kathryn Wilson.
In the coming weeks we'll be featuring more artists studios and artworks as we prepare for the launch of Capsule Arts online store selling limited edition prints. Please feel free to leave your comments, it's good to get feedback on what interests you as we build the collection.
Working on design projects and our own initiatives with a combination of interior designers and artists, we're always looking through countless sketchbooks, and drawing out ideas - we're visual learners! So when we found this office of Amsterdam based company Nothing, designed by freelance creative Alrik Koudenburg - it instantly hit a chord with us.
