Our week at Design Days Dubai

Last week Capsule Arts participated in Design Days Dubai presenting Giles Miller Studio as part of the installations segment of the fair. It was a great week working to put together the twin light installations Castor and Pollux that took over 20 hours to install onsite, and countless hours in preparation for the Giles Miller team before arriving in Dubai from the UK. The week also included a talk title 'The Role and Value of Bespoke in Interior Design', chaired by Rachael Brown of Capsule Arts and included Giles Miller, Andy Martin who was exhibiting with the Crafts Council, and Dubai based Interior Designer Pallavi Dean.

Here's a few pictures from the week and you can view more on our instagram page. Thank you to everyone that posted their own photos and videos, many of which we reposted.

Launch of Tiger Co-lab Satwa Project

Last night saw the launch of Tiger Co-Lab, a platform where local artists of various disciplines will come together to co-create over the course of the year. The first project is inspired by Satwa and saw seven Dubai based artists venture out into this culturally rich area of the city over the past two months, where they got to truly discover the neighbourhood and it's people. The artists involved included visual artists, photographers, fashion designers, graffiti artists, and musicians. The seven Tiger Brand Ambassadors are Fathima Mohiuddin, Steffi Bow, Sya One, Kris Dozign, Isaac Odes, Lucky Schild, and Tim Hassall.

The event gave people the chance to see and hear each artistic outcome of the project, and a documentary aired about how the project happened and talks about what each artist learnt from the experience. Music on the night was provided by DJ East with a live set.

There are some pictures from last night below and more at #tigercolab, you can also check out Co-Lab Youtube channel here where the documentary will be made available to see again.
