Studio Visit #5

We've been back on the shores of Abu Dhabi visiting artist studios, this time we take a look at British artist Andrew Field and Jordanian-British artist Julia Ibbini, who have both made Abu Dhabi their home. As an artist inspired by the islands of Abu Dhabi and surrounding waters, Andrew Field mainly works out in the open air and amongst nature, recording his observations in the form of notes hidden in the painted layers of his seascapes.

For Julia Ibbini, her artistic process is a meticulous working of digital drawings, collage, and hand embellishments with ink, paint, crystals and thread.

Gaining a greater understanding of how an artist works and how the process informs an artist's practise can allow a new higher level of appreciation. Here's a little taster viewed through the artist's studio...
